“I have always liked fabric!” Ever since I can remember, fabric has been a part of my life. When I was about six I became acquainted with my Grandmother’s button box (something I have yet today). I made a button sampler by sewing various buttons on strips of green gingham check fabric (sadly, I don’t have that first creation). As a teenager I made most of my own clothes. My Mom was a single mother, a rarity in the early ‘70’s, and clothing was expensive. Instead of asking for clothing for a gift I asked for fabric (yes, even polyester-Quiana). My prom dresses were Gunnesax or Vogue patterns. This eventually led to wedding dresses, draperies and slipcovers. I was introduced to quilting by my Aunt Lila-a fellow fabric lover. The play of color and shape intrigued me. That was about 30+ years ago. Home and office design is the perfect place for exploring the effect of color and light. I pursued this interest through a degree in Interior Design. So, a couple of vocations later, here I am at Grant’s March. I never thought I’d be a shop proprietor, but the winds of change have landed me here. I am surrounded by fabric and pattern; great lighting and friends. I love ALL textiles!
